The Department of Chemistry offers the Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degrees with a major in chemistry.in 5 branches, Analytical Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, and Physical Chemistry. Approximately fifty current faculty members are engaged in research in all areas of modern chemistry. Specializations in organic, physical, inorganic and analytical are offered with extensive interdisciplinary research opportunities (e.g., bio/nano-science, particle science, green chemistry, polymer chemistry, chemical physics, health related biochemistry, chemistry-engineering, and genomics). The department currently has 150 graduate students.
