⊙ Coordination Chemistry of precious metals complexes with Thiazolyazo dye.
⊙ Photocatalytic degradation of pollutants based on the doped TiO2 catalysts.
⊙ Environmental monitoring and modeling of pollutants in aquatic environments.
⊙ Utilization of bamboo charcoal.
⊙ Photocatalysis Photodegradation of organic pollutants by doped semiconductor
Nanoparticles of TiO2 and ZnO were doped with metals (Sm, Gd, Co, Mn, etc. and some nonmetals (N, S etc) and used as photocatalysts for degradation of pollutants. The main pollutants that we are interest are dyes and some carcinogenic compounds such as PAHs, chlorophenol etc.
Our work shows that some of the photocatalyst such as Sm- doped ZnO and N-doped TiO2 has high efficiency toward the degradation of Azo dyes and PAHs.
The main goal of this project is to prepare new photocatalysts which have higher efficiency in the photodegradation of pollutants. The work also extend to the search in photocatalysts for the photocatalytic reduction of CO2 to fuel.
⊙ Bioinorganic Study on the biological properties, such as HIV-1 Protease Inhibitor property and DNA-binding property, of metal complexes
The aim of this project is to prepare and determine the structure of some metal complexes especially the noble metals group with organic ligand such as derivative of thiazolyazo compounds, derivative of porphyrin compounds. Then we will study on the binding of these metal complexes with some enzymes and DNA.
